The OG Story
Old-Growth Reclaimed Fir

What is our OG Series?
Solidbody versions in our T / S / JP & JZ Series guitars made from > 90 year-old reclaimed Rocky Mountain Douglas Fir sourced from decommissioned Southern Alberta Grain Elevators.
This beautiful (and plentiful) reclaimed timber would already have been hundreds of years-old when harvested by a logging industry that had not yet realized the benefits of protecting Old-Growth forests.
The processed lumber further endured Southern Alberta's infamous and intense (often over 100 km / hour) Chinook-winds for another 90+ years as landscape-dominating and iconic Prairie structures.
To Juan and Troy it seemed criminal for this prize timber to become scrap and / or waste when it could be appreciated for future generations. Uniquely seasoned (and further hardened) by the elements over time it just so happens to make a fantastic tone-wood. Building electric guitar bodies seemed to be a perfect fit.
Not only are our OG model guitars pieces of local 'lore; they are gorgeous and affordable hand made instruments with a hard and tight-grain that is very in weight. They are highly resonant and produce loud, complex (and unique) acoustic tones that amplify beautifully with our proprietary hand-wound pickups from Pegcity Pickups, Winnipeg.
Wooden grain elevators are an iconic structure that dominated local landscapes since 1895 but the Alberta Wheat Pool discontinued the practice of building them out of wood in 1985. This is your opportunity to own a quality hand built boutique guitar as well as a piece of Canadian history.
