Our bolt-on, single-cut JP series gets you a hand-made, boutique guitar at a price you never thought possible.
Our hand-carved, slightly off-set single-cut is rock-solid in every way and available in your choice of HH / H / 2 x P90 / and single P90 pickup configuratoins. Killer hardware, a 25" scale, and maximum resonance in a lightweight machine ready for all of your heavy lifting without breaking your back, or your bank.
Our proprietary 2+4 headstock optimizes string pull and balances tension across the fingerboard for plenty of slink and tonnes of stability while virtually eliminating the threat of 'easy' headstock breakage that comes with some brands.
The JP has also been designed with a custom break angle to give you a familiar single-cut feel but with the stability of a bolt-on neck.
With a price similar to that of mass produced American branded models, we are confident that the JP-OG Series is one of the absolute best values in the electric guitar market, period.
What is 'Weathered'?
OG Series guitars are non-gloss fine Nitro spray finished to emphasize woodgrain and texture. These finishes vary in colour intensity from one body to the next, bringing out the exact character of each piece of wood. Bodies are not grain-filled allowing maximize resonance and faster aging; pinholes will be visible, grain will be felt, and the guitar will become more personalized with every sweaty performance.
What is OG?
90+ year old reclaimed Old Growth Fir.
- Rocky Mountain Douglas Fir from decommissioned and demolished Southern Alberta grain elevators.
This beautiful (and plentiful) reclaimed timber would already have been hundreds of years old when harvested by a Canadian logging industry that had not yet realized the benefits of protecting Old-Growth forests.
The harvested timber then endured infamous (and relentless) Southern Alberta Chinook winds for an additional 95+ years when it was used to build the iconic Alberta Grain Elevators.
By repurposing this Old Growth Fir into our OG guitar bodies, we are proud to offer guitarists a piece Canadian heritage while keeping this very special timber relevant for generations to come. Having 'Weather' aged to a hard, tight grain and light weight it is highly resonant producing loud, complex acoustic tones that amplify remarkably.
Wooden grain elevators are an iconic structure that dominated local landscapes since 1895 but the Alberta Wheat Pool discontinued the practice of building them out of wood in 1985.
